Nowadays it is too di cult nd anyone who has never bought in IKEA. In the last years, this company has become the best in its sector. However, the major problem many consumers face is the furniture assembly. Although, there is a wide range of furniture products that are sold with instruction guide and sometimes handyman kits, these have not been e ective enough for novice users. In this context, we propose a new mobile application called FixKEA, with the principal aim of supporting the IKEA's consumers. We must bear in mind that we are living in a society where almost everyone depends on mobile phone. Smartphones are a fundamental piece in our daily life. Almost two-thirds of the world's population now has a mobile phone and more than half of the world's web tra c now comes from mobile phones. Using FixKEA, users can access to videos where other users explain them how to assemble a furniture. Also, they can download the manual of the furniture assembly and read comments from other users. In the same way, they can add comments and videos to help other users. In addition, they can nd the IKEA store that is nearest from the user's location. Other functionality provided by the application, it is the access to information about the own application. Users can manage their personal data and may change their name and surname, email, and password. All this is achieved through good design and programming practices, and by giving priority to research and through analysis of the problem identi ed with a very detailed level. In the development of the application, we use an architectural pattern called Model View Presenter (MVP) to facilitate automated unit testing and improve the separation of the application's parts. This pattern ensures the decoupling of the application, the maintenance for future possible changes, and also the improvement of the application e ciency. Furthermore, back-end infrastructures are required to provide the management and security of les and user accounts, thus achieving compliance with the Data Protection Act, which implies the use of third parties back-end services as Firebase. With all this, FixKEA stands as an application speci cally for users who have to mount a furniture. All the relevant aspects of FixKEA development, an application developed by the student Laura Marrero Moreno with his advisor Carmen Nieves Ojeda Guerra, from the School of Telecommunications Engineering and Electronics at ULPGC, are further detailed in this projecten_US
