Abstract: Individual autonomy can be manifest in situations which render impossible the future exercise of the individual's decision-making capacity. The problem acquires various nuances in cases of expressing acceptance of time-limitless commitment of the surrendering of freedom, of suicide (thereby rendering nonviable any subsequent conduct) and of the approval of the establishing of non-removable clauses in the constitutional texts. The solution to be adopted will always require the activation of the necessary mechanisms so that the decision that has been reached can be considered free of any type of inducement by any other individual or by society in general.
