Abstract

Se ofrece una semblanza de carácter académico sobre el historiador Juan Zozaya Stabel-Hansen. Por un lado, se incluyen datos biográficos relativos tanto a su familia como a su nacimiento y juventud, para aportar un contexto que ayude a entender mejor su figura; también, se compilan diversos datos curriculares posteriores ligados a sus líneas de investigación. Por otro lado, se esbozan algunas teorías de Juan vinculadas a la presencia islámica en España, en relación con las fortificaciones, la iconografía y -fundamentalmente- la toponimia.

An academic portrait of historian Juan Zozaya Stabel-Hansen is offered in this obituary. On the one hand, it includes biographic information related with Juan’s family and his birth and youth, to give a context in order to better understand his figure; it also compiles some late curricular information linked with his research lines. On the other hand, some of the Juan’s theories are outlined, related with the Islamic presence in Spain regarding fortifications, iconography and –mainly– toponymy
