This study tries to value the incidence of hydrometra in the Canarian breed and to assess the effect of two different treatments to solve this pathology. Hydrometra was determined by transabdominal ultrasonography in 1360 goats of 6 farms. The incidence of hydrometra was of 3.31%; the incidence was higher in farms using hormonal treatment to induce the ovulation. In addition, the incidence of hydrometra in older goats was significantly higher than in the yearlings. On the other hand, the treatments showed their effectiveness in causing the luteolysis and the elimination of the uterine fluid of the pseudopregnant goats. Moreover, these treatments restored the reproductive cyclicity when administered during the breeding season, with an important percentage of goats recovering their fertility.
