The increasing demand for consumption of Bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) (BFT) has produced that the stocks of this species are in overexploitation. Consequently, there have been scientific advances in order to meet its extremely high demand, mainly Japanese. In recent years, several Frame Programs have been undertaken (REPRODOTT and SELFDOTT) in order to close the life cycle of BFT and to develop the production of this species under culture conditions, and thus its fishing impact.en_US
