Abstract

La tecnología de los registros distribuidos, en general, y blockchain, en particular, ha supuesto un indudable avance no solo en el mundo tecnológico sino también en el económico y jurídico. Ella sirve de soporte a las criptomonedas, nuevo fenómeno con un gran impacto también en el ámbito delictivo, pues se constata el recurso a ellas, y al bitcóin, en particular, para la comisión de hechos delictivos. Un estudio de la cadena de bloques y de las características de bitcóin permite confirmar su potencial uso delictivo respecto al delito de blanqueo de dinero. En síntesis, una nueva manifestación de la "criptocriminalidad".
