Issue Date: | 2001 | Journal: | Informacion Tecnologica | Abstract: | This research presents the results of an empirical study carried out on newly created enterprises which are active in an insular environment. The aim of the research is focused on determination of the role played by Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/TS), in contrast with other key factors that can also affect the creation and development of enterprises such as location, competition, market, and others. The analysis has permitted identification, among other factors in this context, of the most relevant factors as seen by the developers of new enterprises at the point of establishment of a new business, as well as the weight of each factor. Critical information which help outline implantation and utilization of IT/TS at the organizational stage, or in subsequent stages when decisions have been made to restructure the business to obtain better results, are provided in the article. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/74332 | ISSN: | 0716-8756 | Source: | Informacion Tecnologica [ISSN 0716-8756],v. 12 (5), p. 149-154, (Enero 2001) |
