Abstract: Fuerteventura's urban tourist development: the search of the sustainable development versus to the constructive massive growth.- Fuerteventura's island presents a great set of opportunities to turn into a tourist destination of quality, so his climate, beaches, landscapes, tranquility ... they are a good test of it. Nevertheless the model of development used in the Island in the last years, especially from the decade of the nineties, has caused an excessive growth that he has placed to the own sector in a difficult situation where the offer begins to be superior to the demand, and where the capacity of load of some places has been already overcome.
