Abstract: Current trends in expert systems development led us to an integration of the waterfall and incremental models. We followed this tendency, focusing our work on the incremental aspects of the development process. Some modifications on the traditional life cycle have been made that will facilitate the description of the responsibilities for each phase, as well as the definition of the products in each of them and the integration of the verification and validation processes in the development methodology.
