Abstract: The climate history of the Canary Islands has had warmer epochs than today, of tropical and subtropical type, in coincidence with global interglacial stages, but other epochs were colder coinciding with global glacial stages and others were similar than today. In this study five main paleoclimatic milestones has been stablished in order to get a general view of the best-known past climate time intervals, from Mio-Pliocene to Holocene periods.
