This article presents a study on the use made by undergraduate females of the social network Instagram, seen as a marketing tool and generator of engagement, and how this bond (analyzed through its three dimensions: cognitive, emotional and behavioral) affects their relationship with brands. The results indicate that the brand-following made by our target group on Instagram is high and that the impact that this social network has on those females, either directly or indirectly, is increasing. Likewise, the cognitive dimension of engagement, followed by the emotional dimension, are those that seem to have more place among the sample. However, while users are not motivated to interact directly with the brand (behavioral dimension), it seems that they are when it is a publication that offers promotional content.en_US
