Abstract: While our geological understanding of Tenerife and that of the TVC has experienced significant advances in the last decades, comprehensive geophysical investigations into Teide’s volcanism are still in their infancy. Geophysical data, however, are essential to the identification of deep features and processes relevant to the current state of activity of the TVC, such as the presence or absence of active magma chamber(s), their precise location, and their potential eruptible volume(s). This chapter gives an up-to-date summary of the currently ongoing geophysical studies concerning the TVC complex, and addresses the P–T conditions of the current Teide magma chamber system derived from gas emission data, gravimetry, aeromagnetics, seismicity, and from ground deformation studies.
