At this moment, the areas of Western and Sub-Saharian Africa are seriously threatened if we take into account the new dimensions of Human Security which are mentioned by the UN in 1994. All the categories which are mentioned in this essay from the Economic Security to the Political essay cannot be guaranteed, by the Governments of the countries which are in the area. Because of this, a great amount of inhabitants that live in the most western countries of the African continent, are pushed to immigrate. If the level of immigration has descended in the last years, the irregular immigration floods by the sea, have affected the Canary Islands and in the last years it has become a real threat for human security. This situation of threatening could happen again, if the conflicts and inequalities that affected western African communities, are not treated in an efficiently way. This essay is based on a descriptive work that will show how irregular immigration from West and Sub-Saharan African is a threat to Human Security. In this sense, the European Institutions, the Spanish Government and the Canary Island Government try to solve the threatening of the irregular immigration doing different actions. In the first stage of this essay a bibliographic analysis of several sources of primary and secondary information has been made. Also, qualitative techniques related to the development of the interviews to experts have been used. The information obtained in this essay has made possible of a SWOT analysis.en_US
