dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the present research is to analyse the psychometric properties of the “Autoconcepto Forma 5” questionnaire developed by García and Musitu (2001) with a sample of 1087 university students. The factor structure has been analysed by means of a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and four models were tested, showing that the model which best fits the data was the 16 items and six factors correlated model with an acceptable internal consistency. Likewise, the results of the discriminant analysis have allowed us to establish differences and to predict a high percentage of subjects using gender as criterion variable. The results support the criterion validity and the predictive utility of the short version suggested by CFA. © 2007, Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
