| dc.description.abstract | In the present paper, the presence of twenty species belonging to the Order Heterosomata (Pleuronectiformes) off Canary Islands is discussed. A catalogue of flatfishes of the Canary sea-bottoms is given: Citharus linguatula (Citharidae) , Bothus podas maderensis, Arnoglossus imperialis, Arnoglossus thori (Bothidae) , Solea vulgaris, Synapturichthys kleinii, Pegusa lascaris, Microchirus theophila and Microchirus ocellatus (Soleidae).
