Issue Date: | 2005 | Journal: | International Journal of English Studies | Abstract: | In this paper I examine the construction of a corpus of scientific and technical books that contain many different items of varied contents. This type of books may be considered as esamples of discourse colonies, in the fashion of earlier studies carried out by Hoey (1986, 2001) and Carroll (2003). Discourse colonies are characterised by the preseiice of a number of features related to authorship, textual ineaning, syntax and communicative function. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/57106 | ISSN: | 1578-7044 | Source: | International Journal of English Studies [ISSN 1578-7044], v. 5 (2), p. 1-26 | URL: | http://dialnet.unirioja.es/servlet/articulo?codigo=2143187 |
