Abstract: Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium measurements on binary systems of methyl propanoate with ethanol and propan-1-ol are taken at a constant pressure of 101.32 ± 0.02 kPa. These systems exhibit significant deviations from ideality and are shown to be thermodynamically consistent. The methyl propanoate-ethanol system forms an azeotrope at x = y = 0.483 and T = 345.58 K. Experimental data are fitted to a suitable equation and are likewise compared with the values predicted by the UNIFAC and ASOG models.
