Abstract: At present the multimedia services are growing up over wireless networks. But the design of these services is a hard task due to the inherent restrictions and problems of these networks (as well as the restrictive computing power of wireless terminal devices). Object Oriented Programming paradigm fails when it is used to program these kind of services over heterogeneous devices (wireless devices and robust and powerful fixed devices) due to its low productivity and reusability. In order to solve these problems we explore in this paper the applicability of a new programming paradigm named Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP). Refactorizing an existing middleware allow us to isolate some wireless concerns like channel failures, range control and spurious disconnections. In this paper we present two applications implemented rapidly and efficiently using the AOP: the "Distributed Slides Show Delivery" application and the "Video Streaming" one.
