Abstract: Excess molar enthalpies and excess molar volumes of {a methyl alkanoate (from ethanoate to heptanoate) + dodecane) were measured at the temperature 298.15 K. Both quantities are positive for all the mixtures studied, decreasing quasi-regularly as the ester chain-length increases. Excess properties are analysed theoretically by use of several models. © 1993 Academic Press Ltd.
