Abstract: The excess molar enthalpies and volumes HEm and VEm of {xCH3(CH2)2u - 1CO2CH3 (u = 4 to 7) + (1 - x )CH3(CH2)2rCH3 (v = 2 to 7)} at the temperature 298.15 K and at atmospheric pressure are reported. The excess molar enthalpies of all the mixtures were positive over the entire composition range decreasing with the length of the ester and increasing quasi-linearly with the length of the hydrocarbon. Since the evolution of the excess molar volumes is analogous, this presents negative values. A comparative analysis of the theoretical results using several models to estimate HEm and VEm is also included.
