La enseñanza de la literatura en Canarias

Abstract

La enseñanza de la literatura española suele ser un gran problema para todo profesor de E.G.B y B.U.P., debido, por un lado, a la falta de motivación de los alumnos, y por otro, a la dificultad del objeto de estudio. No obstante, creemos que el conocimiento de la literatura clásica es de vital importancia tanto para la consolidación lingüística del alumno, como para su desarrollo creativo. El problema está en cómo introducir al alumno en dicha literatura. Todo podría consistir en ofrecerle textos más cercanos, dentro de lo posible, a su propia vivencia cultural. para luego ir, paulatinamente, mostrándole otros de mayor proyección universal.

Teaching Spanish literature is usually a very hard task for most E.G.B. and B.U.P. tcachers, mainly because of the student's lack of motivation and the fact that we have to Pace a rather difficult subject. However we think that the knowledge of literature is considered crucial for the student in order to develop his linguistic and creative skills. The question is. how should we introduce the student to this kind of literature'? A good way of doing so could be showing him first those texts that are as closely connected to his background and culture as possible, and gradually to introduce him to more distant texts later on.
