Abstract: Four patients with osteoporosis associated to pregnancy are presented. Three of them developed vertebral and rib fractures and the remainder low back pain in the third trimester of pregnancy. In all cases, biochemical and hormonal study was normal and diminished bone mineral density was observed. If densitometric osteoporosis WHO criteria is applied, no one patient could be diagnosed as osteoporotic. After one year of follow-up, in 3 of 4 patients, those who were treated with nasal calcitonin, an improvement of bone mass was observed with stabilization in the fourth patient. No new fractures were recorded.
