Resumen: Osteoporosis is a disease difficult to define, either for its etiopathogenic and pathophysiological complexity and its silent clinic. To identify patients with osteoporosis bone densitometry as a diagnostic tool, and the scales of absolute fracture risk 10-year FRAX® and QFracture®, as tools for assessment of clinical risk factors used. The trend in the epidemiology in recent years has been variable, depending on the different populations and sex, but the progressive aging of the population means that it remains a major global health problem. In the absence of symptoms, is its main complication, fracture, the only clinical manifestation. Osteoporotic fracture is the cause of the morbidity and mortality of the disease, and its prevention is the main goal.
