Abstract: Super-resolution (SR) algorithms present the drawback of a high computational cost, mainly due to the motion estimation (ME) stage. A good choice of a ME algorithm is a key factor not only to obtain high quality video sequences, independently of their characteristics, but also to reach real-time performance. A comparative of different fast block matching algorithms (FBMA) is made in this paper in order to facilitate the election of the one which presents the best tradeoff between video quality and computational cost.
