Abstract: In this paper a competitive network location problem is treated. We consider a proportional choice rule derived from the Huff model, where facility location and other attributes, such as size and service quality, are considered. This problem is solved using Geographical Information Systems in a raster environment. Later, the obtained layer with the Huff capture is considered as a criterion to determine the most promising zones on the island of Gran Canaria to locate a new hypermarket using a multi-criteria GIS based model.
