Empirical analysis on 535 non-listed Spanish firms leads to the identification of three clusters in terms of the variables related to boards' structure: family dominated boards, professional boards and immature boards. Results show that the firms that have boards' structure with more potential for a socially responsible behavior (professional boards) are the ones who are bigger, older and with higher generational evolution. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/43323 | ISSN: | 1135-2523 | DOI: | 10.1016/S1135-2523(12)60120-8 | Source: | Investigaciones Europeas de Direccion y Economia de la Empresa[ISSN 1135-2523],v. 17, p. 47-67 |
