Abstract: This paper reports on the length-weight relationships of ten teleost fish species inhabiting seagrass meadows constituted by the marine angiosperm Cymodocea nodosa from the Canary Islands (North-eastern Atlantic): Bothus podas, Xyrichtys novacula, Mullus surmuletus, Sparisoma cretense, Diplodus annularis, Pagellus erythrinus, Spondyliosoma cantharus, Syngnathus typhle, Canthigaster capistrata and Sphoeroides marmoratus. A total of 1,396 individuals were collected using a seine net. These equations represent the first biological data for C. capistrata and S. marmoratus throughout their distribution range, as well as the first length-weight relationships for B. podas, X. novacula, S. typhle, C. capistrata and S. marmoratus from the study region, and they will be a useful tool to increase the ecological knowledge of these species.
Cet article présente les relations taille-poids de dix espèces de poissons téléostéens des herbiers de phanérogame Cymodocea nodosa des îles Canaries (Atlantique nord-est) : Bothus podas, Xyrichtys novacula, Mullus surmuletus, Sparisoma cretense, Diplodus annularis, Pagellus erythrinus, Spondyliosoma cantharus, Syngnathus typhle, Canthigaster capistrata et Sphoeroides marmoratus. Les 1396 individus examinés ont été capturés à l’aide d’une senne. Ces équations constituent les premières données biologiques pour C. capistrata et S. marmoratus dans leur aire d’origine, ainsi que les premières relations taille-poids pour B. podas, X. novacula, S. typhle, C. capistrata et S. marmoratus dans la région d’étude et elles permettront d’améliorer les connaissances écologiques de ces espèces.
