Abstract

Se aborda el destierro de los generales Unionistas en Canarias y el respaldo recibido de la oligarquía liberal canaria, mostrando el complejo proceso conspiratorio y resaltando la participación canaria en la coordinación de numerosos elementos como garantía de éxito del alzamiento. Se destacan las motivaciones económicas como las que afiancen definitivamente el respaldo a los alzados.

The exile of the Unionist generals in the Canary Islands and the support received from the liberal Canarian oligarchy is discussed, showing the complex conspiratorial process and highlighting the Canarian participation in the coordination of numerous elements as a guarantee of success of the uprising. Economic motivations stand out as those that definitively strengthen support for the rebels.
