| dc.description.abstract | The practical use and benefits of dimensionless variables and groups is well known. Here we introduce dimensionless forms of fundamental thermostatic property relations – e.g. u(s,v) – and associated relationships. In addition, dimensionless property relations for exergy are developed. These are independent from (subsumed) dead-state reference properties – like T0 and p0 – and are characteristics of the material alone. Applications thereof are presented in a companion paper “An Assertive Statement of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics,” which has both practical and theoretical relevance. | en_US |
