El cambio analógico: la influencia del modo subjuntivo sobre el modo indicativo en catalán y occitano antiguo y moderno.

Abstract

Existe una larga tradición gramatical que afirma que, en caso de producirse un cambio analógico, será el modo indicativo el que afecte al modo subjuntivo. La motivación de este análisis reside en la aparición en la lengua catalana de formas verbales velarizadas en el presente de subjuntivo que no vienen motivadas por un cambio analógico procedente de la imitación del modo indicativo. La metodología llevada a cabo en este escrito no ha sido otra que la elaboración de un corpus haciendo uso mayoritariamente del Oxford Online Database of Romance Verb Morphology. El análisis de los datos presenta indicios de que el modo subjuntivo puede ser más productivo de lo que ha sido considerado tradicionalmente y, en conclusión, en aquellos verbos que poseen una consonante velar en la desinencia, el presente de subjuntivo ha ejercido su influencia sobre la primera persona del singular del indicativo.

There is a long grammatical tradition that states that, in the case of an analogical change, it is the indicative mood that affects the subjunctive mood. The motivation for this analysis lies in the appearance in the Catalan language of velarised verb forms in the present subjunctive which are not motivated by an analogical change coming from the imitation of the indicative mood. The methodology used in this paper was none other than the elaboration of a corpus using mainly the Oxford Online Database of Romance Verb Morphology. The analysis of the data shows indications that the subjunctive mood may be more productive than has traditionally been considered and, in conclusion, in those verbs with a velar consonant in the ending, the present subjunctive has exerted its influence on the first-person singular of the indicative.
