Cádiz a través de la mirada de los viajeros italianos en el tránsito de la Edad Media a la Moderna

Abstract

El objeto del presente trabajo es el estudio de los testimonios de los viajeros italianos que visitaron la ciudad de Cádiz a inicios del siglo xvi. A partir de su análisis, se pretende examinar la imagen urbana que plasmaron en sus obras, distinguiendo entre la información relativa a la ciudad medieval y a la herencia romana aún visible a finales de la Edad Media.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the testimonies of the Italian travellers who visited the city of Cadiz at the beginning of the 16th. Based on its analysis, it is intended to examine the urban image that they expressed in their works. Besides, we distinguish between the medieval city and the Roman heritage visible in the Late Middle Ages.
