«Si no es también tratando mal de palabra y obra». Rosa del Bechio Verme ante la Real Justicia y los negocios familiares

Abstract

El trabajo estudia la figura de Rosa del Bechio, arrojando luz sobre su biografía. Casó con Esteban Repeto y, junto a su hijo Jacinto, dejaron la ciudad de Génova hacia 1724 para establecerse en Cádiz. El fin de ambos no era sino operar desde la urbe hacia otros puntos estratégicos, sin dejar de contactar con su Liguria natal. Se explora, por ello, a través de la documentación hallada en Protocolos Notariales, el modus operandi de su vida en la capital gaditana, además de otros sucesos como la repentina marcha de su marido, los malos tratamientos recibidos por éste, el mantenimiento de sus hijos o los negocios comerciales.

This work studies the figure of Rosa del Bechio, shedding light on her biography. She married with Esteban Repeto and, together with her son Jacinto, left Genoa around 1724 to settle in Cadiz. Their goal was to operate from the city to other strategic points, while mantaining contact with their native Liguria. Therefore, through the documentation found in Notarial Protocols, the modus operandi of her life in the Cadiz capital is explored, as well as other events such as the sudden departure of her husband, the ill-treatment he received, the support of her children, and her commercial ventures.
