Identificación de las clases propietarias de Granada mediante su cédula personal en 1926

Abstract

La cédula personal existente en España desde 1854 hasta 1944 se puede utilizar como una herramienta historiográfica para analizar la estructura social de cada provincia española. La reforma introducida por el Estatuto Provincial de 1925 en el Impuesto de Cédulas Personales permite, además, cuantificar e identificar a las clases propietarias. En este caso se han identificado a las clases propietarias de Granada capital, constatando las grandes diferencias económicas existentes en su seno y el reducido peso estadístico de las clases medias propietarias. El control municipal de las declaraciones ha permitido también identificar a los defraudadores.

The personal identification card existing in Spain from 1854 to 1944 can be used as a historiographical tool to analyze the social structure of each Spanish province. The reform introduced by the Provincial Statute of 1925 to the Personal Identification Card Tax also allows for the quantification and identification of the propertied classes. In this case, the propertied classes of Granada city have been identified, confirming the significant economic differences within them and the low statistical weight of the propertied middle classes. Municipal control of tax returns has also allowed for the identification of fraudsters.
