The association Arquitectura y Compromiso Social (ACS), created and based at the ETSA in Seville, operated between 1993 and 2015 as a formative space for reflection in action. International development cooperation, technical assistance in the local sphere, political participation and training were the coordinates in permanent dialogue that fed its activity in cycles of training-action. The lessons learned in this process have enabled the social training of architects to be introduced into the teaching and research of architecture through the ADICI-HUM810 research group and various postgraduate courses. We reflect on the current relevance of these experiences in the light of the University and Society Declaration signed in Valencia in 2023, the new Organic Law of the University System (LOSU) and the new academic career assessment criteria, and we draw conclusions for debate, all in the context of the enormous challenges that this historic moment demands of us as a professional collective.en_US
