Because small isolated power systems typically have a weakly meshed grid, stability can be seriously affected when a large amount of renewable energy is fed into the grid, particularly in squirrel cage induction generator wind turbines. Adding a battery energy storage system (BESS) to a small isolated power system could help mitigate this problem. Calculating the critical clearing time (CCT) through dynamic analysis illustrates how adding a BESS to such a system can improve the integration of power from renewable sources. | URI: | https://accedacris.ulpgc.es/jspui/handle/10553/152834 | ISBN: | 978-1527594333 | Fuente: | Trends in Renewable Energy and Power Quality/Medina Domínguez, Elías Jesús; Medina Padrón, José Fernando; Jiménez Bordón, Alejandro/ Manuel Pérez-Donsión, Gianpaolo Vitale, c. 31, p. 498-511 |
