The diverse range of metallic nanoparticles, such as silver and gold, each with distinct properties, makes them suitable candidates for multifaceted antimicrobial applications. Subsequently, the unique properties of antimicrobial peptides, including their selective targeting and membrane-disrupting abilities, have garnered significant interest in recent years. This chapter explores the cutting-edge approach of functionalizing metallic nanoparticles with antimicrobial peptides, presenting a powerful synergy that holds immense promise in combatting infectious diseases.
