| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work is to review the factors related to colostrum quality in mares and its management in order to provide useful material to avoid pathologies caused by passive immunity transfer failure, which is very common in the equine clinic. This review focuses mainly on the concentration of immunoglobulin G, factors affecting colostrum quality (breed, number of foaling, season...), available quality detection methods and the use of thermal methods to improve the microbiological quality. | en_US |
