Abstract: This study aims to determine the causes of partial and total condemnations in adult and piglets at the “Matadero Insular de Gran Canaria” (Gran Canaria’s slaughterhouse), as well as to quantify the reasons behind these condemnations. To this end, data were collected over a five-year period, from 2016 to 2020 and the four most commonly condemned organs were analyzed: lungs, liver, kidneys, and heart. Among them, the lungs were the most frequently affected organ, showing the highest number of condemnations during the evaluated period. The main causes of partial condemnations were pneumonia, hepatic parasitosis, nephritis, and pericarditis. No significant differences were found in the number and causes of partial condemnations over the years. However, total condemnations showed greater variability across the different years, in both adult and piglets. Finally, the analysis of total condemnation causes revealed that osteomyelitis and acute suppurative pneumonia were the primary reasons, affecting both adult and piglets
