Sinhogarismo femenino y violencia de género desde una perspectiva interseccional en Canarias

Abstract

Se analiza y valora el impacto de las violencias a las que sobreviven las mujeres en situación de exclusión residencial – sinhogarismo en Gran Canaria. Violencias longitudinales combinadas con situaciones de especial vulnerabilidad social. Los objetivos generales pretenden 1. Conocer y valorar el impacto de la interseccionalidad de las violencias de género en las mujeres que viven en situación de sinhogarismo en Gran Canaria y 2. Recoger el conocimiento de las experiencias vitales y relacionales de las mujeres, así como el impacto de las dimensiones estructurales e interseccionales de género, para explorar la complejidad de este fenómeno invisible y de investigación incipiente. Respecto a los objetivos específicos, para el primer objetivo general son: 1.1. Sondear las violencias que en situación de sin hogar siguen sobrellevando estas mujeres, y 1.2. Analizar las consecuencias que el impacto de la violencia de género tiene en la salud de estas mujeres y en la comunidad. Para el segundo objetivo general se proponen como objetivos específicos: 2.1. Identificar los factores estructurales que llevan a las mujeres al sinhogarismo y sus interseccionalidades, y 2.2. Analizar las consecuencias que el impacto de las dimensiones estructurales e interseccionales han tenido en las vidas de las protagonistas. Para ello se recurrió a la consulta bibliográfica con el fin de constatar la viabilidad del problema de investigación, a través de una metodología cualitativa y la realización de entrevistas en profundidad semiestructuradas de corte biográfico. A partir de este momento y una vez definida la muestra, se consideró necesario obtener el visto bueno del Comité de Ética de la Investigación y de Bienestar Animal de la Universidad de La Laguna. Recibida la autorización por parte de este Comité, se realizaron las entrevistas audio-grabadas. Se utilizó el software ATLAS TI para analizarlas y categorizarlas, recurriéndose a la teoría fundamentada para obtener conceptualizaciones emergentes y categorías, que se han ido poniendo con relación a lo largo del proceso de creación de esta tesis. Visibilizar y clarificar el origen, el tipo, las características y formas que adoptan las violencias contra las mujeres, puede contribuir a comprender en profundidad el principal factor que las conduce a acabar inmersas en el sinhogarismo oculto.

This study seeks to analyse and evaluate the impact of violence experienced by women living in situations of housing exclusion – homelessness in Gran Canaria. Long-term violence combined with situations of particular social vulnerability. The general objectives are to 1. Understand and evaluate the impact of the intersectionality of gender-based violence on women experiencing homelessness in Gran Canaria and 2. Gather insight into the lives and relationship experiences of the women, as well as the impact of structural and intersectional dimensions of gender, to explore the complexity of this phenomenon that is both invisible and in the early stages of research. Regarding specific objectives, for the first general objective, they are: 1.1. To survey the violence that these women continue to experience while unhoused, and 1.2. To analyse the effects that the impact of gender-based violence has on the health of these women and on the community. For the second general objective, the following specific objectives are proposed: 2.1. To identify the structural factors that lead to women's homelessness and the intersectionality of said factors, and 2.2. To analyse the effects that the impact of these structural and intersectional dimensions has had on the lives of subjects. To this end, bibliographical consultation was carried out with the goal of determining research question viability, using a qualitative methodology and conducting semi-structured, in-depth interviews of a biographical nature. After which point and having defined the sample, it was deemed necessary to obtain the approval of the Comité de Ética de la Investigación y de Bienestar Animal (Research and Animal Welfare Ethics Committee) of the University of La Laguna. Having received authorisation from this Committee, audio-recorded interviews were conducted. ATLAS.ti software was used to analyse and categorise the interviews, drawing on the established theory to identify emerging conceptualisations and categories, which have been put in context throughout the entire process of creating this thesis. Drawing attention to and clarifying the origin, types and characteristics of violence against women, as well as the shapes it takes, may contribute to a deeper understanding of the main factor that drives them into situations of hidden homelessness.
