Las maquetas en el espacio Niemeyer de Curitiba como objetos de creación y divulgación

Abstract

El Museo Oscar Niemeyer de Curitiba, MON, se ubica en un edificio proyectado por el arquitecto en dos tiempos, 1967 y 2002, que ha quedado como registro de la evolución de su arquitectura. Entre su extensa oferta expositiva se muestra de forma permanente una visión panorámica de la obra del arquitecto, el Espacio Niemeyer. Las maquetas, un óptimo medio didáctico para la divulgación de su arquitectura, protagonizan este espacio. Estas maquetas, complementadas con dibujos, fotografías y textos, facilitan una cercana y eficaz aproximación a su arquitectura. Además, algunas de ellas, realizadas por el maquetista Gilberto Antunes, colaborador habitual de Niemeyer, formaron parte importante de los procesos de creación de los proyectos, lo que les otorga un interés añadido. Mediante un análisis bibliográfico y fotográfico se analiza la capacidad de divulgación y creación de la maqueta en el MON.

The Oscar Niemeyer Museum of Curitiba, MON, is located in a building designed by the architect in two periods, 1967 and 2002, which has remained as a record of the evolution of his architecture. Among its extensive exhibition offering, a panoramic view of the architect’s work, the Niemeyer Space, is permanently displayed. The models, an optimal didactic medium for the dissemination of his architecture, star in this space. These models, complemented with drawings, photographs and texts, facilitate a close and effective approach to his architecture. Furthermore, some of them, made by the model maker Gilberto Antunes, Niemeyer’s regular collaborator, formed an important part of the projects’ creation processes, which gives them added interest. Through a bibliographic and photographic analysis, the capacity of dissemination and creation of the model in the MON is analyzed.
