Abstract: Enthalpy-of mixing measurements are reported at 298.15 K for methyl n-alkanoates ( ethanoate through pentadecanoate) + 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane. All the mixtures are strongly aothermic suggesting the existence of strong specific interactions due to hydrogen bonding between the H atoms of the 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane and the O atoms of the n-alkanoates.
