Abstract: We are reporting for the first time the presence of the hermit crab Pagurus chevreuxi (Bouvier, 1896) (Paguridae) in the Canary Islands. This finding is based on the collection of three individuals and the sighting of several additional specimens on the coast of Lanzarote. The collection, at coordinates 28°55′N, establishes a new southern distribution limit for this species. The species’ geographical distribution aligns perfectly with the typical Atlanto-Mediterranean biogeographic pattern, which is characterized by benthic species showing a clear affinity for warm-temperate waters.
