| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study was to determine ovarian reactivation in sheep. Twenty Canary ewes (both Canaria de Lana and Canaria de Pelo) with their respective lambs, were used. Blood samples were collected up to day 30 postpartum from each ewe to measure progesterone levels. Out of 20 ewes, 8 were reactivated and the mean time between parturition and ovarian reactivation was 24.25 days ±7.34. Ovarian reactivation appeared to induce a loss of body condition. The other variables; lamb effect, age effect and body condition in the first recording, did not show significant differences. | en_US |
