Abstract: The excess volumes at 298.15 K of binary liquid mixtures of nine methyl n-alkanoates (propanoate, butanoate, pentanoate, heptanoate, nonanoate, undecanoate, tridecanoate, pentadecanoate) + nine alkan-1-ols (ethanol through decan-1-ol) are reported. Ali the mixtures have positive molar excess volumes vE in the whole composition range. vE increases regularly as the chain length of the alkan-1-ol increases. On the contrary, vE regularly decreases with the chain length of the methyl n alkanoate, except for methyl butanoate + ethanol or + propan-1-ol. The same exceptions were observed in the ·change of the excess molar enthalpies.
