From Gladstone-Dale, Lorentz-Lorenz and Eykman equations we have derived others relationships which permit to obtain the thermal expansion coefficients of Hquids as a function of temperature. Thermal expansion coefficients of the pure alcohols predicted through empirical relations were found to be in fairly good agreement with the experimental data and to have validity over the temperature range 20-45° C.
