Análisis de la traducción de las referencias culturales en producciones audiovisuales humorísticas. Estudio de la serie Modern Family

Abstract

El propósito de este estudio es atender a las dificultades y a las especificidades que plantea la traducción de textos audiovisuales de carácter humorístico; especialmente, de aquellos elementos que puedan representar mayores desafíos al traductor audiovisual y que se derivan de las diferencias culturales y sociales existentes entre la lengua fuente y la lengua meta, bien porque contienen algún tipo de referencia cultural o bien porque persiguen como principal objetivo la búsqueda del humor. Para ello, desarrollaremos un marco teórico en el que delimitaremos las herramientas conceptuales que nos permitan abordar de modo científico nuestro objeto de estudio. A partir de estas herramientas, abordaremos una investigación empírica sobre las estrategias de traducción empleadas para trasladar al español las referencias culturales y los aspectos generadores del humor en la serie humorística denominada Modern Family

The purpose of this study is to address the difficulties and specificities found in the translation of a humorous audio-visual text; especially, the translation of those elements that may pose challenges to the audio-visual translator. These elements derive from cultural and social differences between the source language and the target language, either because they contain some kind of cultural reference or because their main objective is to pursue a humorous situation. For this, we will develop a theoretical framework where we will define conceptual tools that will allow us to scientifically tackle our subject of study. Based on this, we will work on an empirical study of the translation strategies used to translate into Spanish the cultural references and those aspects that generate humour in the comedy series of Modern Family
