Abstract: In the zone between the Canary Islands (28ºN - 13.5ºW) and Mauritania (20.5ºN - 19ºW) the ducting tropospheric propagation in the 900 MHz banda has a range longer than 700 Km. This is a privilegied zone for the analysis of this type of propagation due to the stability of the atmospherical conditions. Using different data sources, the meteorogical conditions that make possible the apperance of a temperature inversion layer will be studied. This inversion layer creates tropospheric ducts, which can be the responsible for the long-range communications establishment.
