La universidad y el profesor universitario: reflexiones y comentarios

Abstract

El presente trabajo se estructura en dos ejes donde convergen la misión de la universidad, por un lado, y la función del personal docente, por otro. Se abunda en la importancia de la educación basada en la enseñanza para las sociedades, poniendo especial atención a la experiencia de España en los últimos años y su búsqueda por la mejora de la calidad del servicio educativo en beneficio, primero, de quien recibe el servicio (el alumno) y después, en su impacto en la sociedad.

This article includes the crossing line where the mission of the university, on the one hand, and the role played by scholars, on the other, touch each other. The relevance of education based on teaching for societies is stressed together with the quest for quality improvements on education services in benefit of, in the first place, those who receive the service (students) and, then, its impact on society.
