dc.description.abstract21 Canarian hair sheep from the same calving season, kept under stall conditions with their lambs present, were utilized. Blood samples were taken to measure progesterone levels. They were divided into two groups: Group A, consisting of 11 animals, received a dose of GnRH; and Group B, consisting of 10 animals, underwent the Ovsynch protocol. Both protocols involved synchronization with PGF2α. The objectives of this study were postpartum ovarian reactivation, description of postpartum ovarian function, and efficacy of synchronization treatments using prostaglandin and GnRH. No significant differences were observed between the times of ovarian reactivation, ovulatory events occurring during the postpartum period, and the studied treatments. In conclusion, the interval from calving to ovarian reactivation had an average of 10 days. Following this ovarian reactivation, various events occur that do not influence the efficacy of the treatments. It was concluded that there were no statistical differences between both protocols.en_US
