Debates sobre comunismo, estética y política cultural en Italia de Corrente al Fronte Nuovo delle Arti (1938-1948)

Abstract

Este trabajo expone las perspectivas generales y los principales debates sobre arte mantenidos en el entorno del Partido Comunista Italiano durante la segunda posguerra (1944-1948) con un doble objetivo: ofrecer una exposición histórica de la relación entre artistas y comunistas en esos años y una exposición teórica del estatus del arte italiano de posguerra a partir de los conceptos de abstracción, realismo y compromiso.

This paper sets out the main perspectives and debates around art as they relate to the Italian Communist Party during the second post-war period (1944-1948). The paper has a twofold objective: to offer a historical explanation of the relationship between artists and communists in these years; and a theoretical explanation of the status of post-war Italian art based on the notions of abstraction, realism and commitment.
